Carving Out History At Rockpool

Works by Heritage and Design and Project Services to install a stone carving on top of Rockpool at 107 George Street, and conserve the building’s impressive yellowblock sandstone facade, were completed in September.

Weighing in at 1.5 tonnes, the carving, which was meticulously hand carved by stonemasons, is a reconstruction based on old photographs and drawings of the original.
